Sounds like my kind of personality.
Retarded.
We're getting acquainted with ourselves this holiday, it seems. Well, seeing as how I'm getting zero social contact from the outside world (...either by choice or by design...? *solitary weeping*) it can't really be helped. After weeks of shouting back and forth in my tiny space; all 1130 cubic centimeters of gray matter, I decided that typing it out won't do anyone much harm. Except bore people to death I suppose.
Talking about boredom, holidays are a necessary boredom in college life. The dull, monotonous, repetitive days seems to spur students to take hold of their lives and gear up for some action! Something new, something challenging, anything will do! Just take away my boredom ple-eehh-eehh-eehh-ease.
So says Sakinah but here she is heating up the bed with the netbook.
Well I tried to teach my sister Form 4 Chemistry, but that gave me a headache so I've been avoiding giving her further lessons. Sorry mum, for being a useless role model. I tried doing some simple SPM questions by myself and they were surprisingly difficult. It's a cinch once you've figured out the steps, but still, I was pretty embarrassed that my PASUM credentials didn't guarantee instant recall with some of the trickier chemical formulaes. Goes to show that any lesson learned goes to waste without use or practice.
With teaching out of the way, I tried to devote my days to drawing. I set myself with a new challenge this season: colouring! And what a mess that turned out. I would snap some shots and post it here myself, or on Tumblr at least, but uuuh...oh it's going to turn into such a huge joke! Purple skin, yellow hair, blue lips...If it's not clear to you by now, then let me spell it out for you. I have a huge problem with colour mixing and combination. Or simply, I have never looked properly at a human being before. Maybe I'll gather up the guts to post some of them here so we can all have a good laugh. At my expense.
Hmmm...what else....oh! Congratulations to Dato' Lee Chong Wei for a magnificent game! I realise this is uber late and all but let me add my own tiny contribution of heartfelt gratitude to the swirling mass of love Malaysia has for their badminton champ. ESPN described the match perfectly in a line,
'Skills may win you medals, but attitude wins you hearts.'
This entry has been nothing but another raggedy patch of thoughts. That said, happy Ramadhan folks!

Addicted to This Amazing Harry Potter FMV It has been awfully hot lately. Seriously, even my eyes are sweating. And I think the heat is making me moody and temperamental. I can barely stomach any awful jokes without my mind going completely red nowadays. Sleeping in would be an amazing cure. Exams are a bitch, bitch and a half. Galvin might disagree with me on the basis of student honour which I'd feel compelled to agree with on any given day (because there's some odd romantic charm in student honour atau adakah aku sorang saje yang pelik? -__-) but damn the weather is so hot, screw your global warming ideology, and yes this is a senseless rant GRAAAHHHH! Yeah, that was BM. Ohohohoho. Bet that was as shocking as the lightning that struck BUA. That was an awful thing to happen btw. Apparently the first years lost their teeth models in the fire, and there's a chance that our blue books and Endo projects are lost along with theirs. I'd hate to be the one tearing their hairs out at dealing with costs from damage and repair! Kinda reminds me of all that time dental students spend on talking (and maybe, dare I hope, plan?) about burning down BUA. Idle jokes do come true after all. Oh, one good thing did come out from the sizzling spicy heat that was today. SA (short form for Som and Aliaa) and I went to KLCC for the air-conditioning (food as well, apparently human beings can't survive without this mysteriously delicious subsistence), and Uniqlo was having their opening sale! Yay! We went a little mad inside there but the other customers were even crazier. Girls are mad, I tell yeh. Labels: dailies Broke
The title above refers to my financial condition, the state of my mental health and possibly my gingiva. Mmmm yeah. Was Jaksyen's patient today for clinical technique (yes, thanks to Dr. You-Know-Whos' excessive and unneeded excitement in getting rid of us early, our schedule has been pushed up to the point where i just want to sleep whenever 5pm comes) and unfortunately for him, I was a poor patient. Pity Jaksyen and Dinie. It's bad enough that I was throwing a hissy fit at my parents. I wonder if this is because of PMS? I think I need to shout out a huge apology to everyone, somehow. I am being far too emotional lately, manic and depressed simultaneously, pensive and hyper, weird and weirder. But then again, I've noticed that there is quite a few dental students undergoing the same change. Maybe it's from the stress of working in the clinics, or maybe it's because exams are approaching dangerously close. Yet here I am blogging. MATB dinner tomorrow night. Will be sitting with a bunch of crazies :D That's one thing to look forward to at least!Labels: dailies I like what I like
Exams are over. The big one is coming soon. Also, found good things. Some of them surprisingly good. My brain has the capacity of mush after the 'step-down technique' lecture we had earlier. Sitting in a lecture for 3 hours and 30 minutes somehow stimulates the latent ADHD in me. I can't even concentrate on blogging properly now.I was surfing the net aimlessly (like I always do) and I found this cool piece of gaming news that make me weep in shame and simultaneously curse my awful habits as a social outcast. But then again, said combo pack (if you would bother to follow the link) should already be released in Malaysia, but the guys at Sony Centre never breathed a word about it. Wtf, Sony? It's like the employees there want consumers to buy underwater products from S'pore. If we want to go technical about it, the guy at OU's Sony Centre told me that PS3s are cheaper in outside stores (wow genius, tell me something new), but he never pressed on about selling a genuine Sony-Malaysia-approved-PS3, so I quit on him and whatever half-hearted babble he was on. Please-lah. Malaysians love their discounts and promotions, and if Sony Malaysia actually had something like that going on, and if they actually want to compete with the abang at Digital Mall, then they need to revamp the whole blah-ness of their atmosphere. That ended up as a rant against Sony, somehow. Which is a pity, because I actually like Sony. Maybe I'm slightly prejudiced against the Centre at OU because it seemed like they have a specific target as to who their potential customers might be, and it just never struck them that a 20-year old girl would actually be interested in gaming consoles. Which is a pity, because I definitely want Heavy Rain now. FF-XIII sucked. No offense to anyone who might have enjoyed it, but seriously, that game is a chore. Lisa has AC: Brotherhood for Christmas. It kinda sucks that my family doesn't celebrate birthdays, and my friends won't get me something that expensive for Christmas; otherwise I could have asked for Heavy Rain. Still, it was funny shouting out to Jo about getting me a ACII (this is before I checked out Heavy Rain, mind you). So, what did I do on the weekend that Jesus Christ was supposedly born on? Although really; it's not; and really, the celebration has minimal religious implications for reasons I shall not say. Went ice-skating with Aliaa and Som, and boy, was it packed! By 3 o'clock, the rink looked like an over-packed aquarium with humans as fishes. We were supposed to go with a few other people as well, but they all canceled out at the very last minute so we're back to our original threesome joysome. Som was pissed off, but in my opinion, at least they told us that they weren't going. Being stood up by a friend whom you would consider to be one of your best buddies is much, much worse. The experience has probably immunized me. The following day (Sunday) was a reunion with Shar and Jo. We pretty much terrorized OU. It was awesome. We're probably going to meet up again tomorrow at KLCC, so it's safe to say that the foreigners are going to have a pretty gay and giggly version of Malaysia after seeing the three of us work our stuff. Oh yeah, baby! it's found :B
Alhamdulillah! The sexy pink baby has been found!
To show just how much I've repented from the clutter-of-a-life I've been leading, I spent the entire evening cleaning up my room yesterday. It's all clean and nice now. But I might have to change rooms later on because 2nd RC has this new policy of segregating the courses by floors. They're planning to implement it in January. It sucks, really. While I admit that 85% of my social contact in 2nd RC already consists of dental students, it doesn't mean that I want to see dental students day-in and day-out. There are other interesting topics of conversation that does not relate to teeth. Or medicine. Another point in fact is that a residential college is supposed to be like a second home to students. You don't change homes after just 6 months of living in them. Well, maybe you would, but even if you do, it definitely won't be at the same area again. Either way, my PSP is back now. Yay! GACC is the shitz
Reminder to self:1- Never give empty promises. 2- Don't ever take protocol work ever again. 3- The first step to being a responsible adult is to give immediate reply to SMSs and missed calls. ![]() Jumping in front of a train almost seems viable at this point of my career as a dental student. If I could blow bubbles on the track as the LRT eagerly reshes to knock me under, then that'd be cool. Then again, LRT moves at the speed of a 95-year old granny with a walker (astounding; considering it has it's own private track with no danger of getting caught in a traffic jam) so these brittle bones of mine will simply get crushed agonizingly slowly and I'll be able to feel each tantalising sensation. Oooh. Bieber shriek. Yeah, suicide by train-jumping is not gonna happen. Ambitious me had grand plans about packing amalgam by the end of the Thursday session, and at the rate things were going, matrix band in by 3.50pm, I was delighted and feeling somewhat accomplished. There was definitely time for amalgam packing! Showed the matrix band placement to Dr Angela by 3.55pm, she complained it was too short (which it was, so I wouldn't hold it against her at this point), the two of us struggled with some double band or other method for a good 20 minutes, I decided that a broad band would fit much better and by 4.15pm (time! time!) asked her if I could use that method instead and her reply was, 'Actually, I was waiting for you to ask me that. Yes, you can, but I want you to learn that method no matter how difficult and time-consuming it is. So haha, go off and enjoy twisting your fingers!' The last bit is an exaggeration but hnnngggghh that woman makes me want to jump in front of a train. And prostech is a bitch, bitch and a half. Ugh. I totally died and refused to budge from the bed, even though it was Aliaa's and not mine. Sorry guys, for being a bit emotionally unstable just now. Well, more so than my normal dose of abnormality that is. Oh, but I was awfully touched when Jivvie offered to help out with my dentures, despite it being past closing time. En Syamsol was being surprisingly helpful as well. A 3rd year senior once commented on how terribly selfish dental students are, but I think she just mixed in with the wrong group. This past week showed a wonderful bunch of young students helping one another out as each struggled to finish their own projects in time. Kindness, no matter how small the degree may be, need not be killed in the rush for success. I'm still bummed out from optech and prostech, but this simple display of... I dunno, friendship, leaves a profound effect that continues to swell and fill my thoughts despite being slouched over the computer alone in my room hours after lab. Alone, but not lonely. It doesn't feel half bad. bound to be free

I also miss the smell of Natsume; grass and country air mixed with fresh boy-ish sweat. I want to smell. Smell. Smell. Pn Arb and En Syamsol wake up every morning wishing for something more than going to work just to bully dental students. Will not stay for long. Just wanted to mention a few things on some interesting topics I came across while moving along the Great Informational Technology (or GIT for short).Sex IS legal. A few aspects of it are made illegal here in Malaysia, but it's general consensus that sexual penetration of little children aged 12 and below (years may vary) is a deplorable act that calls upon immediate annihilation with no mercy or forgiveness. Even if the perpetrator is a grapist. Everybody is bipolar. Take me for example. I'm a darling Yes-man in front of Chop Suey and Jijik, but take those two some distance away from me and I'll turn to the nearest person next to me and say, 'What a fucking asshole.' Everybody else does this. Don't lie.
EDIT: I've provided links except for the chinko manga. You'll have to come up with your own means to figure that one out. what are directions? is it something yummy?
Mum had me turn 12th RC upside down last Friday night just because my sis went MIA without her hand phone. She had her reasons for being worried, but I'm sure I creeped out a PASUM girl and ruined a couple's break up in the process (hahaha, most momentous break up EVER!).My ever resourceful mother suggested that I look for my sister at her friends' room, which I did. She didn't remember the room number but gave me directions instead. The conversation probably went along something like this: Mak: Bilik dia sama deret ngan bilik Nadia- Me: *in my head* deret? DERET? darum darum dam dam Daaaanmaaaark Mak: -boleh nampak from the bridge- Me: Nampak from the bridge? Oh, you mean the first bilik that you see when you come from the bridge-lah? Mak: What? No, you can see the balcony and the- Me: *in my head* I left the chocolate buns in my room. I want them. Hungry. HUNGRY. Needless to say, I got the wrong room. And seven days prior to today, Aliaa and I went to have iftar at the Turkish Horizon school. Being surrounded by foreigners while awkwardly figuring out how to eat Turkish food made us feel a bit odd, but then we found a world map in the office and ended up spending over an hour going through it. That last bit may sound a bit lame, but at least we're making an effort to acquaint ourselves with world geography. And it's all thanks to Hetalia~*snort* The amount of ink spent to indicate the massive land that is Mother Russia terrifies me. All in all, it was lovely to see Sumeyra and Isil again. They haven't changed a bit since the last time we saw each other. The food was good as well. The ride back didn't end up all that good, though. The train announcer went, 'Kepong, Kepong,' and Aliaa jumped up, panicking, 'Kepong?! KEPONG?!' and I was like, 'Kepong. So?' Well, it turned out Kepong was on the blue line of the map. KL Sentral was on the red. It was the wrong train. Big oops. Ended up having Aliaa's family pick us up. Well, every cloud has a silver lining. I got to meet Aliaa's family, along with a really cool iguana (and a lazy Golden Retriever) and successfully managed to skip out on GACC meeting! Talk about multi-tasking. Yes, I just had to end this post to make it sound like getting lost has its own awesome benefits. I am not a direction-incompetent-nincompoop. Not totally, anyway. Labels: dailies The Gates of Doom
![]() Som and I figured out that if we could drink alcohol, we would most probably have drowned ourselves silly thanks to optech lab. But we're still good Muslim girls so we tried to think of other alternatives instead. There's shisha, but it's too much like smoking and I for one do not want to die of lung cancer (and the air in KL promotes this disease enough as it is) so we dropped that idea just as well. Sheesh, who'd have thunk abusing our God-given body takes hard planning? I'm a slow worker at optech, so slow that even Faris who had to redo his second impression 4 and 5 times respectively for max/mand (or mand/max, whichever) is ahead of me. And let's not go into cons work. En Syamsol chided me for my easygoing behaviour and lackadaisal attitude that he took it upon himself to wash my mandibular model and repair my mandibular stone cast for me. I'd be thankful for him were it not for his mouth yapping away. Yes, I know I'm slow, and yes, I'm even humming as I work (Let it Rock by Kevin Rudolf feat lil Wayne, the line that goes 'and he stuck his middle finger to the world/to the world) but I'd like to try and do the repair work by myself thank you very much. All in all, I need to hit the books, and soon. Oh, and my mum was getting upset about me wearing the England FIFA tag all the time (remember that I am a good Muslim girl and Muslim girls do not wear a cross around their necks, even if it's Celtic and not Roman) so she got me a France tag instead. France. Of all the other FIFA-playing nations there is out there and she got me France. I'm gonna wear England again. Labels: dailies Not in the best of moods
There's the boy with the band-aids, holding four out in his hand like charity. Brown, white, dots or stripes. He looked serious as he held them out but the other boy had to bend over with his hand on his stomach, 'cause he was laughing so damn hard. *** Wooden floor with horizontal lines running across. Great God. *** Cheap white rug spotted with polka dots. He's going crazy. Fucking awesome. *** He wore glasses now because his contact lens were missing. But he still faithfully traced his fingers along the scabs and the burns, no doubt with four band-aids ready in his pocket. There's rock music in the background, even though the crazy one knows it's all in his head. Somebody drilled the musician into his head and now the choir is singing 'Insanus' on a loop. Yes, he must be crazy. Especially if he's falling in love. ***
Labels: dailies Water shortage day 2
So today we had to use the facilities offered by the Engineering faculty because the spanking brand new toilet with black stone flooring failed to deliver water to 30-odd girls clamoring for shower and relief. As Som put it, we looked like mak ciks. Yes, mak ciks who couldn't afford to pay the water bill (or better yet, who don't have any homes to return to because some drug-addicted husband sold the mortgage to satisfy his meth needs) so they had to use free water at some random complex to do their laundry and miscellaneous.I don't even know why I'm reporting these things, but I do know I'm going to be late for Pathology if I keep this up. I've just been so lazy to study lately, even worse than how it was for Year 1 Sem 2. Must do something to reverse this situation. Labels: dailies Elixir of Life
Hasyim should try being a little sweeter, IMO. He can be such a bloody jackass. On another note, the 2nd RC should seriously inform students about water shortage if they're going to face some damn problems about it. Serious fucking shit. At least, then we could have stored water earlier rather than climbing up to the 4th-fucked-up floor carrying a pail of water and splashing the majority of it on the cement floor along the process. Ah well, c'est la vie, benim öğrenci, apa boleh buat. . . Still. That's one morning exercise I could do without. Addicted to Nephew
He swung a leg over the wolf's side, and tightened his grip by pressing his knees into the wolf's ribs, leaving his hands free. The wolf reared its head in discomfort, sending ripples of movement across the framework he's sitting on, but the boy laughed and threw his arms out at the sky."Einmal, Tartarus," he said to the wolf, "Ich werde dem Kaiser der Welt werden." The wolf began to move, maneuvering itself between trees and shrubs. It kept it's body low all the time, periodically sniffing at the air for the prey. The trees towered high above them, with branches mushrooming overhead that provide little shelter from ground animals. The wolf felt naked and exposed. Carrying a madman on its back didn't help much, either. A twig snapped nearby, and the wolf stopped dead in its tracks as its ears pricked up trying to locate the source. Nothing moved except for leaves falling and grass bending in the breeze. "Fisch ist lecker," murmured the boy absent-mindedly. The wolf growled for silence, and got only a smack on the head as a reply. "Ruhig sein, Tartarus!" he chided the wolf. But they were both silenced when men in green appeared behind trees with bows and swords aimed at them. The wolf flicked a gaze behind, and saw three men inching closer to them. They were completely surrounded. "Let go of the boy, Tartarus," said one of the men. "You've been kidnapping blonde children from around these parts, and killing them in your den. That boy has been entrusted to us by his guardian, and to hell with you if you think we're gonna let you go with him." Kidnap? The wolf bared it's teeth and raised its hackles at the men. It has never kidnapped any human child. "No? Then what do you call the meat you have on your back?" The wolf felt the tug of fur as the boy shifted in his seating and slid down its side. The boy patted it on the side of its head, and murmured, "Sie sind Idioten, eh Tartarus?" and the wolf could not help but growl in agreement. This boy is nothing so ordinary as a human child. He is a madman, a master, its mother and father, the devil himself. "Ich bin der Kaiser der Welt." **** Alissa said she might be continuing the SaYuKo Collab, a little project the three of us have been doing since Form 3. Or Form 2, I'm not sure. Now, I'm extremely out of touch with fantasy writing, so in order not to make an ass of myself in front a Journalist student and a student studying in UK, I thought it's best that I try and get myself back in shape. Of course, provided we all can find the time in our busy schedules for SaYuKo and each other. Otherwise, the resurgence of SaYuKo will remain as an idea, a beautiful idea, but just an idea nonetheless. Sorry for the bad German. And now my cat is scolding me. She's cute when she's sleeping, but she screams a lot when she's awake. Spoiled Rotten
Lesson #21 for parents: When you're buying something for your kid, have your kid stand right next to you. Even if your kid liked what you're buying for them, have them stand next to you all the same. That said, thanks mak and abah for the gorgeous Radley handbag, loved it. But it still peeved me off that you bought one without me. I'm not so upset that you bought the wrong one (because all Radley handbags are gorgeous) as that you chose something I was gonna use for a large portion of my life without consulting me. Anyway, thanks again, love you guys. I just can't jump for joy because I feel like you guys robbed me the thrill of shopping. XOXO Labels: dailies And The Curtain Falls
The holidays are ending and it won't be long before UM Dental students of '09 are subjected to torture and fear under the scrutiny of Dr Nora. However, every cloud has it's silver lining, and an advancement to the 2nd year proves that we are getting nearer to the profession we have always dreamed of. It won't be long before the dummies are replaced with living human beings full of complaint. There's always the ominous hint of getting sued for malpractice, but we're not a pessimistic bunch so let's stick to the goal of, 'We'll do great saving the world, one tooth at a time!'Anyway, stuff not entirely productive has happened this holidays. There's Surabaya; a mess of a city that's delightfully enchanting with its bountiful paddy fields, the stress of anticipating for the Surabaya trip, the havoc of preparing for the last-minute Surabaya trip... ah, good times. I tried my hand at drawing again, as well. It's proved to be a most frustrating account. Drawing anime faces tilted to an angle looking pretty and pointless has lost its novelty, and it seems that every stroke I do is wrong, wrong, wrong. I don't really care that the anatomy is wrong, or such crazy hairstyles would require 2 and 1/2 cans of hairspray for it to work in real life, I just want the satisfaction of feeling pleased with my work. Other than that, I'm gaming again as well. SMT's Persona, to be exact. It's just turn-based RPG so it's hardly a feat worth bragging. Unless I manage to defeat the Enigmatic Knight on KH2 FM then that would be awesome! Too bad I don't read Japanese and I'm too lazy to play FM, ahahaha! Anyway, Persona 4 is better than Persona 3 in every aspect. The battle sequences are faster, with higher degrees of freedom in control. It makes the game so much more fun to play. Oh, oh, while we're still on the the gaming topic, I'd like to add that Yukari is a dick. Ta-ta for now! |
